Tech After The Attack

from the speeds-up-the-inevitable dept

So, everyone is trying to predict what the attacks mean for the technology industry. Business Week weighs in with a pretty good article suggesting that it simply will speed up the inevitable. Smaller, weaker companies will go away or get gobbled up. It will be tougher for companies to “just hang on”. However, the end result may be a much stronger technology industry, built on the backs of some very solid companies. Particularly hard hit will be many firms in the telecom space. While many telecom companies had random products looking for uses before, now they’ll find it nearly impossible to find any buyers. So, the summary is that it’s going to be quicker and probably more painful – but it’s all for the best in the long run… hopefully.
