Wireless Focus

from the convergence-was-so-last-millennium dept

A Red Herring article talking all about how the wireless market is “specializing” with the likes of mobile virtual network operators like Virgin and “carrier’s carriers” like the perpetually troubled NextWave. For a while wireless companies were looking to offer everything under the sun, but now specialization is the key. Seems like plenty of other markets (computers, for instance). Nothing much new here if you’re a wireless wonk, but it is an interesting trend – and reminds you why you shouldn’t necesarily go with something just because it’s a trend. Trends change.
