Cell Phone Call Of The Wild – Part II
from the how-easy-it-is-to-be-unprepared dept
A little over a year ago we posted an article about idiots who go hiking or camping and rely on a mobile phone to rescue them if they get into trouble (mainly for not be prepared otherwise). Now, the NY Times has basically written the same article. They include a great story of a guy who called up to be rescued because he was late for a meeting. I think the rangers should have given him directions that would have gotten him lost. They also talk about some parks that have a policy saying that if you need a rescue because you were unprepared then they send you a bill for the rescue. That seems like a smart move.
