Judge Tosses Out Meeker Lawsuit

from the smart-judge dept

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Morgan Stanley analyst Mary Meeker, who is quite well known for hyping up internet stocks over the past five years or so. The interesting thing here is that the judge threw out the case on his own – and not even in response to a request from MSDW to throw the case out. The quotes from the judge are pretty impressive as well. He absolutely trashes the lawsuit, saying that the complaint was redundant, a “collection of market gossip”, and “in grossly bad taste”. Tragically, this will probably do little to end the stupid lawsuits investors are filing these days to get back the money they lost because they couldn’t be bothered to actually look at what they were investing in.
