The Man Who Bought The Internet
from the it's-mine!--all-mine!! dept
Fortune takes a look at Stratton Sclavos and how he came to “own” the internet, by having his company, Verisign, buy up Network Solutions. What I hadn’t known before was that Sclavos was on the board of NSI, so he knew they were looking for a buyout. The article points out, correctly, that there are many people who think he’s the evil overlord of the internet.

No, he’s not an evil overlord of any Internet – just a damn fine businessman. Why does everyone always whine about people who make a success of things – I say good luck to him.
