Man Vs. Machine
from the as-if-he-had-a-chance dept
What do you expect when an amateur (and admittedly not particularly good) chess player takes on the greatest chess playing computer? He gets killed off pretty quickly. He did start the game off with a few advantages – including the ability to call some chess greats as “lifelines”. I like how each of them tells him right from the start that he’s screwed. The best is when Kasparov tells the reporter that he should have called him two moves earlier. If I’m playing the game, I call Kasparov before the first move and I don’t let him get off the phone – but I guess that kind of defeats the purpose.
