Lessons From The Online Gambling Industry
from the a-growing-trend dept
Thomas Stewart takes a look at what’s happening in the online gambling world and then tries to apply the lessons being learned there to regular internet companies. First, he makes the point that gambling is a good online business since it can be almost entirely virtual – nothing tangible needs to be exchanged. That means it’s much easier to put online. Second, brand matters. You’re less likely to trust an online gambling site based out of some small island, then one associated with a big name casino. The same is true for other online companies as well. Finally, you need to have good customer relationship management, to make sure customers keep coming back. Okay, these are all good “lessons”, but I’m not sure that anyone running any business doesn’t realize these things are true already without having to take a look at the gambling business.
