How Does ASCII Pr0n Compare To Mobile Porn?

Salon is running yet another article about porn on mobile phones. This one, though, compares it to good old ASCII based pornography, better known as ASCII pr0n (for those who don’t know, this is basically pornography picture entirely made up of text from a keyboard – and you would be surprised at the quality of some of it). Anyway, apparently the new WAP-based mobile porn of today is no where as good or as intricate as the ASCII pr0n of twenty years ago. It’s being designed by big corporate interests rather than (at least this is what the article seems to be saying) those who create ASCII based pornography for the sheer enjoyment of it.
