Sony Fakes Kid Pen Pals To Sell Games

from the parents-not-pleased dept

Sony is being accused of creating ghost pen pals for kids to lure them into trying a new Sony game. Sony took the names and info of people who registered with them, and sent them a note that appears to be handwritten by a kid congratulating them on their game playing skills – and telling them to check out this new game. Some kids have apparently been freaked out by this random kid they don’t know – who seems to know all about them.
