Don’t think of the Motley Fool as a website any more. They want to be a media company along the same lines as Martha Stewart and Playboy. They want to be a single brand spread across many different mediums. Of course, that makes sense, as it’s been a good business model for both Martha Stewart and Playboy, but will people go for it? I think a lot of people associate the Motley Fool with the extreme excesses of the dot com bubble, so convincing them otherwise might not be so easy.
