Outpost.com Brings Back The Gerbil

from the last-ditch-efforts? dept

Remember the Outpost.com Gerbil? Yes, the one they shot from the cannon that basically started the insane dot com TV commercial craze? It’s baaaaaaaaack. Outpost has brought back the Gerbil for online (only) promotions, and the company made a few jokes about how he’s coming back after a failed attempt at starting a stunt school for small furry animals. They’re using the Gerbil to promote their special “promotion” for free ground shipping on orders over $500. Since Outpost made a name for themselves by offering free overnight shipping on anything, this seems like an odd sort of promotion. It highlights the point that their free shipping ideas didn’t work out so well. Sounds like the Gerbil may soon join the sock puppet in the land of mascots who outlived their dot com companies…
