With all the noise about Craig Mundie’s speech (most of which I don’t care enough to write about here) there was one interesting part. As the Register points out Mundie rewrites history a bit to suggest that Bill Gates believed in the internet a lot earlier than he actually did. The earlier he thought of it, the more visionary he looks, and he has to look visionary, so what’s the harm in adding a few years to his visionaryness?
