Flipping For Profit

The next in Red Herring’s look at the sketchier “behind the IPO” process focuses on flipping. Flipping IPOs (buying into the IPO and selling quickly for profit) has been done for years, but was usually frowned upon. If you were known as a flipper, it was often tougher to get shares in an IPO. Of course, when stocks were flying super high on the first trade, it suddenly became too lucrative not to flip.
