Remember the articles people used to make fun of about psychologists who were making lots of money dealing with clients who had problems with sudden wealth syndrome? Well, now those same psychologists are making money from those same folks on the way back down. They’ve even coined a new term, called sudden loss of wealth syndrome (SLOW), and of course, like anything else it’s a “serious problem”. It’s (not surprisingly) worse among younger suddenly rich (now suddenly poor) who identified their self image most with the funny money they were getting.
