Startup.com Coming Soon To Theaters Near You

from the horror-movies dept

We mentioned the documentary Startup.com back in January when it was playing at Sundance, but now that it’s getting ready for release Wired has a review of the movie. It follows the rise and fall of GovWorks.com, and is apparently too realistic. Even though it’s a documentary, apparently much of it feels scripted – since it fits every stereotype of dot com hype (a company cheer??). I’ll probably go see it (because I go see way too many movies), but it sounds like it could be a painful experience – watching a bunch of people who are taking themselves too seriously. I’ve been seeing that exact movie for the past few years everywhere I go in Silicon Valley, why do I need to go into a theater to see it?
