The McKinsey Quarterly has a very thorough look at the mobile portal business. They make a point that I believe is often over looked in this area, that the most successful portals will be the ones that are available on multiple platforms (web, mobile phones, interactive television) and have global reach. So far we have AOL and Vizzavi, which are the closest. Who will be number three? NTT?
