Half.com Advertising In Fortune Cookies

from the just-what-we-need dept

Advertisers are looking for just about any empty space to fill with an ad. The latest is Half.com using fortune cookies to promote their site. While plenty of companies have made their own fortune cookies, these are actually getting distributed to Chinese restaurants (where some customers are getting confused – because the fortunes promise “free $5” which customers believe applies to their meals). If I were running a Chinese restaurant that received these fortunes, I’d be pissed off if I wasn’t getting paid.
