There are lots of dirty and underhanded ways to compete. However, sending your competitor a computer virus disguised as your price list is probably near the bottom of the list when it comes to intelligent dirty and underhanded ways to compete. Not surprisingly, the competitor company in this case was a bit suspicious, and it didn’t take them long (they were a computer company, after all) to discover the virus. The sender of the virus has been given community service and had his computer equipment confiscated but wasn’t sent to jail.
