Rapid Prototyping Your Web Business

from the interesting-aproach dept

The following article has some interesting ideas about prototyping your web business before building it for real. I think the concept of seeing whether or not there’s real customer demand before dumping millions of dollars into acheiving your vision is smart. However, that doesn’t mean it always works. The main example used in the article is CarsDirect. They built a fake website with two people to see if anyone would actually buy a car. When someone did, they had to drive down to a local dealer to actually buy the car for the person. They used this experience to get lots of cash. Of course, CarsDirect isn’t exactly one of the bigger dot com success stories.
