The Internet Brings Back Writing, Not Eloquence

from the who-wants-eloquence-anyway? dept

One thing the internet has done for the world is that it immerses more of us in text every day. People are writing a lot more, even if it’s just emails – and it turns that’s leading to more writing in other forms as well. However, it’s also made people stop being as careful about what they write so there’s less eloquence. Some writers are upset by this, but that’s probably because it’s tough to be pretentious and annoying when everyone else is passing you by. Others, rightfully so, are happy that the internet encourages more people to write, and experiment with writing.
