That Falling Feeling

Not much new in this Economist article, but a good summary of how big technology firms didn’t realize how much the dot com bubble effected them. They just kept on believing that their growth rates were realistic – ignoring that a lot of the growth came from dot coms buying their equipment, or investements in those startups. They also didn’t count on the market being flooded with only slightly used equipment from failed startups. The image of the cartoon character who keeps running right over the edge of a cliff is a good one…
