When Is Half A Billion Not Really Half A Billion?

from the smoke-and-mirrors dept

Last Friday we posted about Sigma Networks raising over $400 million in venture capital. It turns out this isn’t exactly true. They really just raised a little over $100 million in venture funds, and the rest is debt financing – mostly in the form of vendor financings. So, it’s really not as big a deal. Plus, the article points out that Sigma isn’t doing anything really new or different than a large number of other startups out there.
