Tales Of A Fifteen Year Old Stock Scammer
from the it's-all-relative dept
This is one of the more fascinating news articles I’ve read in a long time (that’s my way of saying if you read any of the articles linked on Techdirt today – this one is probably the one to read). A few months back we had posted about a kid who had been caught by the SEC manipulating stocks – but who ended up getting to keep about half a million of his gains. Now, Michael Lewis has written up the story in significantly more detail. He talks to everyone involved and you begin to understand exactly what this fifteen year old kid was doing – and realize that the SEC (he speaks to some of the top guys) is a bit on the clueless side. They seem to insist that this kid is a bad seed, but don’t seem to know him, or really understand what he did.
