What Does The Web Mean For Books

from the changing-industries dept

An interesting look at some predictions for the book publishing industry from Jason Epstein, who has been in the book publishing business for 50 years. The article talks about Epstein’s life, and some of the ideas he’s had before (most of which have come true). He sees the book industry moving more towards the cottage industry it used to be, with the internet playing a major part. The major prediction is that it will be easier to get published, and books will be printed on demand via ATM-like machines.
