MS Admits Old Windows Is Unstable

from the advertise-your-faults dept

Microsoft apparently has new advertisements for Windows 2000 using the blue screen of death. The idea is that you’re supposed to cut out the ad and save it since you won’t see it any more after you install the oh-so-stable Windows 2000. The article also includes some mean times to failure for different Windows OS’s. What amazes me is that at the low end Win9x shows up with a MTTF of 216 hours. I wish I could get my Windows 98 machine to last that long. I’m now in the habit of rebooting twice a day at least.
