VCs Using More PR
from the it's-all-about-spin dept
Venture Capitalists over the last five years have been increasing their efforts at publicizing themselves. It used to be that VCs were very secretive and quiet. They were only for the select few who knew who they were. That all changed with the high flying internet days, when every VC firm wanted to get in on the best deals. The column here explains some of the mistakes that VC PR people have been making in trying to get the writer to write stories about their firms. I don’t know why this article is specific to VC firms, as many PR people make the exact same mistakes, but it does put the spotlight on VC firms that are hiring PR people.
