Weather Influences Online Shopping Patterns

from the pray-for-storms dept

Bad weather apparently has a noticeable effect on online shopping habits. When the weather is bad people are more discouraged about going out and shopping, and are much more likely to buy things online, according to many different online sites. They’ve all seen noticeable increases in sales when the weather is bad. Something about this seems particularly amusing to me. While everyone has been trying to figure out the secret of getting more customers online, perhaps dot coms should have focused their advertising efforts on areas of extreme bad weather.
