Aimster Expanding Platforms

from the taking-a-play-out-of-Eazel's-book... dept

In a move towards world domination, Aimster is making plans to release new versions of their file-sharing/buddy list program that will work with IM clients other than AIM. This is definitely a smart (and expected) move. Where it may get tricky, however, is the plans to allow some of the different IM programs to talk to each other. In the past every attempt at doing so has been met with AOL’s quick response of shutting the program out. So far AOL and Aimster have gotten along without any problem, so it will be interesting to see how they react to this evolution.
