Merrill Lynch To Fund Internal Startups

from the smart-moves dept

Merrill Lynch has announced that they’re going to start funding companies started by their employees. Other companies have done this in the past, and I think it’s a great idea. It keeps you associated with some of your best employees, and gives them a good incentive to keep thinking up new ideas. However, I wonder if there is backlash to this. Will bosses try to knock down the ideas of their subordinates to keep them from moving off into their own (even if incubated by Merrill Lynch) company?
