Does, uh, Yahoo!?

Yahoo’s ability to effectively advertise is in constant question these days. Yahoo’s chairman says people don’t get it and is unsurprisingly very optimistic about Yahoo’s advertizing prowess. MediaMetrix data on’s deal seems to say there’s no clear indication of Yahoo ads benefitting So what does it all mean? Probably that the truth is somewhere in the middle — Yahoo’s ads are effective but not the “media-changing” world event that everyone will eventually bow down to.
