The eBay Phenomenon

from the missing-the-point dept

Salon has a review of a new book about eBay called The eBay Phenomenon. According to Salon, the book is fairly boring, has no actual “insiders” stories, and very few interesting facts about what’s really exciting about eBay. Basically, the book misses the point altogether. It sounds as though it consists of the opinions of the writer, without any sort of support, despite it being aimed at a “business” audience. For a better look at some of what happened inside eBay, and how it surprised plenty of people, I’d recommend eBoys which covers many eBay stories from the point of view of their VC, Benchmark.
