Potential P2P Problems

from the too-big-too-fast dept

News.com has a collection of articles talking about why P2P computing may never become the perfect solution to all our computing problems. There are technological problems with it. There are also the problems of how businesses will deal with it. Of course, I don’t recall ever thinking that P2P was going to create a “peer-to-peer utopia”, but apparently some people have been thinking that. The fact is, there’s simply too much hype about P2P and everyone is trying to figure out a way to jump on the bandwagon. It’s not perfect, and it won’t ever be. There will be some good uses of P2P and the rest of the world will move on to the next overhyped thing.
