Build Your Own Newscast

from the do-I-need-this? dept

A new service has been launched that lets users build their own newscasts online. It’s basically taking the news aggregator site idea (like Newshub or Moreover) and turning it into a broadcast. Honestly, I’m not sure how useful that is. The nice thing about news aggregators (from my point of view) is that I can skim a bunch of headlines quickly. I don’t necessarily see the point of then assembling them into a broadcast to watch the news I want. However, maybe I’m not the target audience. Also, maybe this is just a personal preference, but I greatly prefer to read my news myself than have it read to me by a broadcaster.
