College Spam

from the yeah-that-will-win-students-over dept

The College Board is going to start selling high school students’ email adresses to colleges so they can email the potential students, rather than the traditional direct mail method. I still remember all the crap I got when I was applying to college and how annoying it was. If I had gotten that all over email at the time I would have flipped out and reported most of them as spam. I’m not sure this is such a smart idea, since many people will probably just get annoyed at the unwanted emails.
