Living.com Shuts Down

from the bye-bye dept

Yet another dot com failures, as Living.com has laid off everyone and filed for bankruptcy. What makes this especially interesting is that they are backed by Amazon (which, I’m sure at the time convinced them that they were clearly on their way to a long successful future). I am still a little surprised that they simply pulled the plug on it entirely instead of trying to either fold it in to another company, or make a deal with a brick-and-mortar company. I guess that tells us that they had almost no business whatsoever. It’s fun to see these companies that didn’t believe in such silly things as “proof-of-concept” finally go under. The sad part is the founders will now be able to go out and raise millions more for their next venture, simply because they’ve “done it before” even if they did it stupidly.
