Mistaken Identity Online
from the lots-and-lots-of-email dept
It’s too bad we don’t have a “wow, that sucks” category, because that’s what this one would probably fit under. The guy who owns the domain bbva.com, which is a small community bulletin board, is getting inundated with misdirected email as plenty of people think the domain belongs to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, better known as BBVA. The big BBVA has their domain at bbva.es. It’s one of the largest banks in Spain and Latin America with over 90,000 empoyes and 34 million customers. The misdirected emails keep on coming, and while the owner of bbva.com keeps complaining no one has a real solution about what can be done to stop the emails.

Email team? Get on it.......
This is a major bummer…..whatever email server they use, setup a rule to search the body of the message for “bank”, “cash”, “money”, or “@*#%” and then bounce it back w/a message saying “No estoy un banco”. 🙂
