Live Web Translations

from the universal-communicator dept

I’d often like to communicate with my French friends in their own language (although, I haven’t learnt French and have no intention of doing so!) but it seems that this may soon be possible (at least on chat sites) thanks to the folks at Lotus Ireland. They’ve apparently developed software that allows real time web translation that can be applied to chat sites. The last time I tried to use some translation software my French friends could hardly understand my email and so this software will have to result in a large improvement in accuracy before I consider trying again.
