A good column describing some of what it’s like to live in the Bay Area. It talks about a meeting of a group of internet folks with varying degrees of success. The article makes some very good points. Most of the super wealthy around here don’t show it off. People still live with roommates, and have half empty apartments. Basically, it points out that the wealth in the Valley has been somewhat surreal, and no one really believes or trusts it. Some people have been very lucky, and they’ll take the money, but very few seem to act as though they completely deserve the immense wealth bestowed upon them.
