Stupid Ideas From Time Warner
from the how-to-get-sued dept
Some local managers at Time Warner came up with a plan that obviously didn’t involve thinking through any consequences. They set up a program where Time Warner employees in Texas were offered free internet service if they called up Southwestern Bell, ordered DSL, cancelled it when the order was confirmed and then told Time Warner about it. Basically, they were bribing their employees to figure out where Southwestern Bell has DSL access available. Southwestern Bell has filed a complaint.

whoa..big time lawsuit on the way..
I can’t believe that Time Warner would pull this crap. They have to know how expensive it is to get the ball rolling on a DSL order. I read somewhere that it’s about $300 per order.
That’s just some shady and predatory business practices right there.
