E-Commerce Sites Turn to Private Labeling

As e-commerce sites are struggling, they’re trying to take a page out of the book of old economy businesses: they’re going to private label products. This article actually points out some of the problems that they might face in doing so, such as customers not being able to return those products to the manufacturer. I’m sure folks at these companies have thought through some of these issues, but it doesn’t seem like adding private label products is going to be enough for any of these companies to actually turn a profit.
