Jurvetson on Startups

from the is-there-anything-new-here? dept

Here’s Steve Jurvetson talking about why startups have a competitive advantage as compared to older companies. Of course, he doesn’t say anything new here (other than to make sure he mentions a bunch of his investments throughout the column). Everyone’s known for years that the advantage of a startup is that they can move more quickly and act in a unified fashion. What I’m wondering is why he wrote this article. Normally, when VCs write a column it’s to hype up something that they’ve just invested in, but I’m not sure this really does that. Jurvetson hasn’t been making much news lately, so maybe this is his way of staying “known”.
