Yahoo sued for sale of illegal video games

from the This-is-mis-directed dept

Nintendo, EA and a few others are suing Yahoo for what they allege is the distribution of illegal copies of video games through the Yahoo Auctions and Yahoo Store sites. For the Store sites I can see where they may have a point, since Yahoo should be exercising a little more control over what type of store they are letting people throw up. For Auctions, though, it’d be near impossible to control. I’m not sure what the solution to a problem like this is, but I’d think that working together would be better than working against each other (although EA claims they have tried to work this out with Yahoo, to no avail).
