Hacks Hurt Consumer Confidence in the Internet

Not really a surprise, but people are more afraid to use the internet following the hack attacks from a few weeks back. Of course, why people are more afraid to shop online when these hacks did nothing to compromise their security or privacy is a mystery, but I guess people associate knocking out a site with being able to break in – even though the two could be totally separate.

Just about every article I saw about the DDOS attacks somehow worked in something about how most people’s home computers are insecure.
