Lycos branded AIM launches

from the Chat-with-Lycos-or-AOL-users-but-not-Yahoo-or-MSN-users dept

The IM saga continues today with the launch of the Lycos branded version of AOL Instant Messenger. AOL is clearly the IM leader with AIM and ICQ, now add the potential of Lycos’ 30 million users. This is clearly a strike at Yahoo and MSN, who earlier this year tried to allow their users to seamlessly communicate with AIM users.

Why can’t IM be like be email? You choose your client and you can talk to anyone. I don’t like having to run three IM clients (AIM, Y!Messenger and ICQ).
