VC for the Masses

from the ground-floor-opportunities dept

Forbes has an interesting article about a company called Offroad Capital, that lets wealthy people invest in startups online. It’s an interesting idea, and the article goes through an analysis of whether or not it’s a good idea, and whether or not you should join if you’re one of the folks who qualify as a potential investor (over $1 million in household net worth). My analysis comes from whether or not you want to raise money from people that way. If you’re an entrepreneur it’s important to know and trust the people who are giving you money, and letting them click a button to say “yes” they want to invests, seems a little sketchy.
