Annoying Online Shopping Helpers

Amusing little article over at Salon talking about the trend in e-commerce sites (it seems mostly focused on women’s fashions) to add a little talking cartoon helper who talks to you while you shop. It sounds annoying as hell to me, and the author of the article seems to agree.
