eBay Saving the Internet?

I think that Gomez Advisors’ staff might have had a little too much coffee this morning when they published their report claiming that eBay is saving the internet by not allowing other sites to scrape their content. I find it amusing to think that the internet would collapse if more websites allowed people to repurpose their content, like many sites have been doing for many years. I must be a part of the problem, because I’m more than willing to let people scrape content from Techdirt.
