PeopleSoft and Vantive to Merge

A bit of a surprise, followed quickly by a “yeah, so what?”: PeopleSoft and Vantive to merge. PeopleSoft has been struggling and trying to figure out how to move beyond the backoffice software that it currently does. Vantive has been fairly quiet in the front office recently, so the idea is probably to give each side more clout, but it might just be a desperation move on each side.
