Lycos has decided to create an affiliate program where website can earn money by having a Lycos icon. Apparently they’ll pay a few sense for each click through. Not a bad idea, but I’m really not sure how much traffic it will really generate. How many people choose to go to Lycos simply because they see a litte button on Uncle Joe’s web page? What’s going to happen is that Uncle Joe is going to sit there and click on the button himself, and then realize he wasted a few hours to earn a buck or two.
