Blodget Predicts 75% of Web Companies Going Away

from the misleading-stats dept

I think news.com is making a bigger deal of this than they should, but Henry Blodget (the famous analyst who predicted Amazon 400) is saying that 75% of web companies will go away. However, it’s not that clear. He says that 75% of them will either go out of business or be acquired. Of course! A good percentage of web businesses aren’t “businesses” per se, but a simple product which needs to be a part of another business to survive. I don’t think acquisitions are a bad thing, but the context of the headline of the article implies that.
